With AA Insurance ContentsCover you can choose the protection that’s right for you:

Defined events insurance

Protects your possessions against fires, explosions, lightning, storms, floods, earthquakes, eruptions, landslips, electrical burnouts, freezing, collisions, burglary and vandalism.

Accidental damage insurance

Protects against all the events above as well as any accidental loss or damage to your possessions.

New For Old

New for old

If something you own is stolen, lost or damaged beyond repair, we’ll replace it with a brand new item, regardless of the age of the original. So if your five year-old TV is stolen, we’ll replace it with a brand new TV.


The only exceptions are clothing, footwear, toiletries and cosmetics where age, use and condition are taken into account.

Temporary Accommodation

If your home is uninhabitable because of damage to your contents we'll pay for temporary accommodation for you and your family for up to 12 months.

$1 million.

We’ll protect your belongings at home and on the road, no matter where you – and they – are in the country.

Lock Replacement

We’ll pay up to $500 to replace locks or change key codes on external doors if you’ve been burgled and your keys are stolen.

Gradual Deterioration

We’ll pay up to $2,000 for damage caused by leaking water or waste pipes if it happened while we covered your possessions, and you’ve taken reasonable steps to check and maintain your home.
