Chris CurtinChris is charged with managing the company’s growth, profitability and return on shareholders’ investments. Chris holds responsibility for AA Insurance’s reputation and for ensuring that all staff are focused on providing an outstanding customer experience.
Chris managed AA Insurance’s transition, in 2002, to a joint venture between the New Zealand Automobile Association Incorporated and Promina Direct Group, which became Suncorp when Promina merged with Suncorp Australia in 2007. He also oversaw the amalgamation of AA Insurance and SIS Insurance.
Chris is an Associate of the Australian Insurance Institute and holds a Graduate Diploma in Business (Administration) from the University of Auckland.
Martin FoxMartin’s current role as Head of Operations includes leading the sales and service and claims assist contact centres as well as workforce planning and claims management. The business improvement area also reports to Martin, which is heavily involved in the documenting and deploying of correct processes throughout the business.
With over 20 years experience in the industry, Martin has a wide understanding of insurance issues. He joined the executive management team of AA Insurance in 2002, following the company’s transition to a joint venture between the New Zealand Automobile Association Incorporated and Promina Direct Group (later Suncorp). Prior to that, he worked as General Manager, Direct Operations for Royal & Sun Alliance.
With AA Insurance being a joint venture, Martin also has responsibility for the 39 NZAA Branches around New Zealand which he manages in partnership with General Management from NZAA.
Suzanne WoltonSuzanne is responsible for developing corporate strategy, finance, corporate affairs, risk, compliance and regulation. She is also charged with managing the company’s overall relationships and communication with government departments, consumer groups and other stakeholders.
Suzanne has worked in the insurance and finance industry both in the United Kingdom and New Zealand for the last 19 years, giving her an enviable depth of industry knowledge. Prior to joining the company, in 2007, Suzanne was Finance Director at Hill Samuel Asset Management in the United Kingdom and before that, Head of Investments at Century Life PLC.
Suzanne received an Honours degree in Law in the United Kingdom and is a Chartered Accountant. She is a member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand’s Accident Insurance Committee. She is also a National Executive member of Blue Light, a youth oriented charity that runs youth empowering programmes throughout New Zealand and Australia.
Simon HobbsSimon is responsible for the sustainable and profitable growth of AA Insurance and leads the company’s drive to provide customers with superior protection.
Simon has 15 years experience in the New Zealand insurance industry. He first joined AA Insurance in 1997 as part of the company’s graduate programme, starting in customer service and subsequently worked in a variety of roles with the company. In July 2004, he moved to Australia to work at AAMI, returning to AA Insurance in August 2005 as Innovation Manager. From there he moved into the role of Customer Manager as part of the leadership team. From 2007 until June 2009, Simon led the organisations’ Pricing, Planning and Analysis function and in July 2009 moved into the role of Motor Product Manager.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in International Business, from Massey University.
