Loss of rent
If you have a current tenancy agreement in place and your tenants can't live in your rental home due to an event covered by your policy, we’ll cover the rent up to $20,000 or 12 months, while we repair the damage to your property.
Extended landlord cover
You can choose our extended cover, which offers additional protection that’s tailored to properties that are tenanted.
If your tenant or their guest deliberately damages or steals from your property, we will cover the damage or loss up to $20,000.
We will cover up to eight weeks loss of rent if you need to evict your tenants, or if they leave without giving you the required notice.
Plus, if you find your tenants have been using or manufacturing illegal drugs we’ll pay up to $30,000 for decontamination and repair, including reimbursing you for the cost of discovering the contamination.

I'm renovating my home, am I covered?
Your Home Insurance Policy covers new building work up to $75,000.
There are a number of circumstances that aren't covered, such as new building work worth more than $75,000, or alterations involving load bearing walls. Please see your Home Insurance Policy for the full details - it's important to read this to determine whether or not you will be covered.
Please contact us immediately if your home will undergo any structural alterations or structural additions.
What 'reasonable steps' do I need to take to ensure I get replacement cover?
Using either a LIM report or other council authorised document to calculate the accurate size of your home is considered taking reasonable steps. Guessing the size of the home, or using a measuring tape to try and estimate it, are not considered reasonable steps.
Reasonable steps includes using tools we have provided such as the Cordell Sum Sure Calculator or getting a qualified professional to calculate an accurate sum insured. Taking a guess or relying on your property's CV/market value are not reasonable steps.
What happens if I don't take 'reasonable steps'?
If you have not taken reasonable steps, and at claim time we find the size of the home is wrong and/or it is significantly underinsured, we will settle your claim based on the sum insured.
Do I get a package discount if I insure my home and contents?
Yes, if you take out more than one eligible insurance policy with us, you can qualify for a Multi Policy Discount. Depending on when you take out the policies, your discount will be applied from the start date of a new policy or at the renewal of an existing policy.
