We appreciate that calculating an exact Sum Insured for your Rental Home can be stressful. To help eliminate some of this stress, we’ve introduced Replacement Cover.
In an event other than a natural disaster
, we’ll use Replacement Cover to rebuild your Rental Home even if it costs more than the Sum Insured. To receive Replacement Cover, you must have taken reasonable steps to provide us with the accurate size of your Rental Home and calculate an accurate Sum Insured, prior to the loss.

Contents cover for Landlords
If your tenanted property is fully or partially furnished, it makes sense you’d want to insure these items as well. So we can also cover your contents for Market Value, up to the value of the Sum Insured amount for your contents.
Extended Cover option
Our Extended Landlord Cover offers serious additional protection that’s tailored to properties that are already tenanted.
If your tenants leave without giving notice, we’ll cover up to eight weeks loss of rent. We’ll also pay loss of rent for up to eight weeks if you need to evict your tenants. We will cover up to $20,000 for malicious damage, vandalism or theft by the tenant or their guest. And we‘ll pay up to $30,000 for decontamination and repair as a result of the tenants using or manufacturing illegal drugs, including the costs of discovering the contamination.
Please be aware that this cover only applies if you have a current Tenancy Agreement in place at the time of the event.
Loss of rent
If your home is accidentally damaged and your tenants can’t live there, we’ll cover the rent up to $20,000 or six months, while we repair the damage to your home.

They’ll look after you when you make a claim, ensure you’re fully informed, and make sure things stay on track and hassle-free.
Lower your premiums with higher excesses
With our excess options on your home and contents you can choose a higher excess in return for lower premiums — and you’ll only have to pay that excess when you make a claim.
