If you are lucky enough to receive one of these delightful devices this summer, you’ll want to ensure they are protected. So here are a few tips:

  • Don’t leave your valuables in your car – not even in the glove box or under the seat! If you’ve no choice, best to leave them in the boot where they can’t be seen.
  • Don’t leave your new entertainment toys where they can fall or get wet. In our experience, most damage to devices is caused by impact and liquid.
  • Ensure these goodies can’t be seen from the outside of your home – burglars might fancy a new speaker system for Christmas too.
  • Watch out when disposing of obvious packaging from your new purchases, such as TVs and gaming consoles. Break them up and so they fit into the recycling and ensure the product image is not facing outwards.
  • If you’re going to post your new entertainment station on social media, or your upcoming trip to the bach, be mindful of your privacy settings.
  • Keep your sum insured figure of your contents policy up-to-date to reflect your new toys. Some insurers may require you to specify some high value items.
