Money can’t buy a good reputation, you earn it

On a personal level it can take time and effort to build a good reputation before people trust you. A company’s reputation is no different - it’s simply on a bigger scale. Instead of colleagues and friends, a company is endeavoring to build trust with the wider public.
It’s taken us decades to build our reputation through hard work and customer care. The public has come to trust that AA Insurance will always behave in a genuine manner and, if we don’t, our reputation can potentially unravel. If we continue to behave genuinely, we not only retain customer loyalty, but they also act as our advocate, telling others about us.
Nowadays customers have a lot of choice when it comes to product and service providers including insurers, so our reputation has a huge impact on their decision. With a somewhat intangible purchase like insurance, consumers are essentially buying a promise, so they need to trust that we’ll be here when they need us.
With this in mind, it’s great to say AA Insurance has been recognised for the third year running in Colmar Brunton Corporate Reputation Survey from among 100 of New Zealand’s most successful companies. Kiwis once again ranked AA Insurance in the top five (4th to be accurate), alongside known and trusted household names like Air New Zealand, Toyota, Z Energy and Pak’nSave; it speaks volumes about our reputation and lets us know we’re getting things right!
While this is a humbling achievement, it’s not the actual awards that are important, but what they mean. We don’t actively pursue this recognition, but it’s a great way to take the company’s temperature and gauge how we’re doing and what our customers, the industry, and our people think of us – in other words, measure our reputation.
