How can Employers Liability insurance help?
If you are found legally liable for an injury your employee has sustained during the course of their duties or employment, we will pay for the damages awarded against you, up to your policy limit.
Advancement of defence costs
If you are required to attend court to defend your legal liability, we will advance your defence costs to you as and when they are incurred.
You can choose to have your cover extended to cover any defence cost which is otherwise excluded under the policy but involves a charge under Section 9 of the Law Reform Act 1936.
Every business is unique, so give us a call on 0800 500 231 to discuss the best insurance options for you.

Do I need my own insurance cover when ACC covers employee injuries?
Yes. Although ACC provides cover for many accidents there are still many examples, such as work-related ilnesses, where there is no cover under ACC. Employers Liability insurance provides you with protection for those situations where your employee is unable to claim under ACC but still has a claim against you as their employer.

Do you cover legal liability which has not been caused by an employee's injury?
Employers Liability insurance only covers legal liability due to an employee being injured. If you require cover for other legal liability, this requires separate cover under Statutory Liability insurance, or Public and Products Liability insurance.
