AA Home Response is a service provided by AA Home that gives you the convenience and reassurance of one number to call when things are locked, blocked, burst or blown in your home. It's just one of the ways that we help make life a little easier.
Access to expert and reliable AA Home tradespeople 24/7, 365 days a year.
Tradespeople aim to be there within the hour, or at a time that suits you.
The service applies to ten common household incidents, including internal plumbing issues, electrical faults, gas leaks and lock-outs.
You pay per callout for the tradesperson's time and materials.
How the subscription works
When you take out home or landlord insurance with us, you're automatically given AA Home Response for your insured property, that continues for the life of your policy. You’ll receive confirmation of your subscription with everything you need to know from AA Home.
Plus, if you have more than one property insured in the available area, you’ll receive a separate subscription for each one.

Will I get AA Home Response if the home insured is a holiday home or tenanted property?
Any home or property insured with us (in the available area) will be gifted AA Home Response, regardless of occupancy. The cover is based on the insured address.
How long will I be gifted AA Home Response?
You'll continue to receive AA Home Response at no cost for the life of your home or landlord policy.
I have a rental property; can my tenants use the AA Home Response service?
Your AA Home Response subscription is based on the property that's insured, not an individual. Therefore, tenants can use the service, however as a landlord you will need to authorise them to do so. You can arrange this by calling us on 0800 500 213.
Can I upgrade to AA Home Response Plus?
It's easy to upgrade your subscription. Simply call 0800 AA Home (0800 224 663) and the team at AA Home will arrange this for you. This subscription usually costs $199, but all AA Insurance home and landlord customers get a special discounted price of $147. Please note, cover is not available for a period of 24 hours after you purchase AA Home Response Plus.
Will I need to pay anything for AA Home Response?
We're giving you the AA Home Response subscription at no cost for as long as your home or rental property is insured with us.
The AA Home Response subscription is a pay per call out subscription where you pay upfront for any emergency callouts. You'll be informed of the callout cost prior to finding a tradesperson to assist you. The hourly rates for your region can be found here.
Will I be able to choose a preferred repairer with AA Home Response?
As AA Home tradespeople aim to be at your home within the hour, they need to use their contracted suppliers.
Can I use the AA Home Response service for another home that's not insured with AA Insurance?
The gifted subscription is only for the home or homes that are currently insured with us. However, you can purchase another subscription for any other homes that we don't insure by calling 0800 AA Home (0800 224 663).
What types of incidents are covered with AA Home Response?
The following home emergencies are covered subject to service exceptions:
- Internal leak
- Broken or damaged ventilated heating / cooling system
- Blocked pipe
- Blackout or power failure in the house
- Broken tap or showerhead
- Locked out of the house
- Burst pipe
- Broken glass
- Broken or burst hot water system
- Gas leak
Service exceptions include natural disasters, major structural damage and repairs requiring specialist brand knowledge, equipment or components. For a full description of service inclusions and exclusions please refer to the Terms and Conditions.
What if I don't want AA Home Response, can I opt out?
Yes, you can easily opt out by calling us on 0800 500 213.
What are the benefits of upgrading to AA Home Response Plus?
You'll get six one-hour callouts per year included in the cost of your subscription (only one callout per incident). You also have unlimited additional callouts on a pay per use basis. These callouts can be requested within the one-hour targeted response time, or at a later time that suits you.
