How to register

You’ll need the details below to register, so it’s a good idea to have your latest policy information on hand.

Your policy number (from the top right corner of your document)

Name and date of birth of the main policy contact.

Your email address

The postcode of your postal address

We’re still here to take care of the big stuff

There are still some things that we’ll need to take care of for you, so please call 0800 500 231 if you need help with any of the following.

  • Changing your cover type (e.g. from Third Party, Fire & Theft to Comprehensive Car insurance)

  • Checking the status of your direct debit instalments and paying any outstanding amount

  • Updating the personal details of any people insured on the policy – e.g. name change following marriage

  • Making a claim or paying your excess

  • Cancelling a policy

  • Updating your AA Membership information

  • Changing an insured address - e.g. the address of your home that’s insured or where your contents are kept

How do I find out if I'm already registered?

To find out if you’re already registered you can use the Forgot your username/password? link found on the Login page of My AA Insurance. This will tell you if your email address is linked to your details.

Where can I find my policy number?

You can find your policy number in the top right hand corner of your most recent policy documents. Or contact us and we can help.

I've registered for My AA Insurance but I'm unable to log in.

Firstly, please check that your email address has been properly registered by selecting the ‘Forgot your username/password?’ link on the My AA Insurance log in page

You’ll be asked to verify a few details, then we can let you know what email address you used to register. You can then reset your password when prompted if you need to.

Making changes to your policy

My contact details have changed. How do I update these in My AA Insurance?

Phone number:

To update the phone number that we use to contact you, select the policy you want to update from your policy list, then select 'Update your policy', then 'Contact details'.

Or, to update the mobile number that text reminders will sometimes be sent to, select the policy you want to update from your policy list, then select 'Update your policy', then 'Contact preference'.

If you have more than one policy, you'll need to update each policy individually.

Address:

To change the location of what's insured on your policy (whether it's your contents or a home or rental property), you'll need to contact us

To change the location of your car that's insured, select the policy you want to update from the policy list, then select 'Update your policy', then 'Contact details'.

To have your policy documents sent to a different postal address, select the policy you want to update from your policy list, then select 'Update your policy', then 'Contact preference'.

If you have more than one policy, you'll need to update each policy individually.

How do I get my policy information by email?

Select the policy you want to update from your policy list, then select 'Update your policy' from the top left menu. From here, go to the 'Contact preference' and select email. Please use a valid mobile number and email address.

How can I update my policy?

Once you're logged in to My AA Insurance, select the policy you want to update from your policy list.

  • Select Update your policy from the menu.
  • You can then choose from any of the available options to update your policy.
