AA Membership Discounted Rate - Terms and Conditions
Eligibility and Offer Details
AA Insurance customers that have one or more Eligible Policies1 (Eligible Policyholder) are eligible to take out a new AA Membership at the discounted price of $49 per year (Discounted Rate), applicable for the first two years of Membership subject to meeting the requirements set out below.
The Discounted Rate applies to Personal Individual Standard Membership and Youth Membership only (Eligible Membership).
Where the Eligible Policy Holder who has taken up the Offer ceases to be an Eligible Policy Holder within the first year of that person’s AA Membership they will not be eligible for the Discounted Rate in the second year. In that case the price of the AA Membership for the second year will revert to the standard price offered by the New Zealand Automobile Association Incorporated (NZAA) in that year.
The Discounted Rate commences from the date that the Eligible Membership is activated and ends on the second anniversary of Eligible Membership. At the end of the 2-year Discounted Rate period, the pricing of the AA Membership will revert to the standard price offered by the NZAA at that time.
The Offer is only available to the Eligible Policyholder. Where there are two or more named insured persons on an Eligible Policy, only one named insured person can take up the Offer as the Eligible Policyholder. This Offer is not available to friends, family or a driver of the vehicle listed on the Eligible Policy.
The Offer is for a limited time and AA Insurance reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at its discretion and to extend, modify, postpone or cancel the Offer at any time.
For Eligible Policies under a business name, the Offer is only available to an owner or director of the business holding the Eligible Policy provided the records of AA Insurance list that business owner or director as an individual authorised by the business to deal with AA Insurance on the business’s behalf. For policies held under a business name the expression ‘Eligible Policyholder’ in the above clauses will be taken to mean the person or persons referred to in this clause.
Conditions of Offer
The Offer is not available to AA Insurance customers that hold a current AA Membership. The Offer is only available for new Eligible Memberships.
To be an Eligible Policyholder, you must be a named insured person on an Eligible Policy.
To take up the Offer and purchase an Eligible Membership, the Eligible Policyholder must contact AA Insurance [via phone by calling 0800 500 213] or visit an AA Centre and provide the number of their Eligible Policy. The Offer is not available via contacting AA Insurance using online methods such as email, chat, social media, instant messaging or AA Insurance’s online insurance quote system.
To receive the Discounted Rate, Eligible Policyholders must pay for the Eligible Membership at the time of setup by credit card either over the phone or in person at an AA Centre via credit card, cash or eftpos.

The Eligible Memberships are provided by the NZAA. The NZAA is an independent and separate entity to AA Insurance. All membership fees for Eligible Memberships are to be paid directly to the NZAA. The fees do not form part of AA Insurance premiums.
The Offer and Eligible Memberships are only available to persons who are NZ Citizens, Permanent Residents or holders of visas of more than 12 months duration. Visitors to NZ can apply for a Visitor Membership at their nearest AA Centre. Visitor Memberships are not eligible for AA Member discounts on AA Insurance policies.
