You can choose to include the rental cover optional benefit on your policy if you have Comprehensive Car Insurance with us, for an additional $50 per year. Rental cover isn't available for Third Party car, Third Party, Fire & Theft car, Classic Vehicle, Motorcycle, Motorhome, Caravan or Trailer policies.
Adding this optional benefit to your policy means that, if we've accepted your claim and you're without a car, we'll provide you with a subcompact rental car to get around in while your car is getting repaired or we determine that your claim is settled. You can find the full details of this optional benefit in our policy document under the heading 'Optional benefits - cover you may have chosen', under 'Rental cover'.
Please note, the rental car may have additional costs or expenses (for example, fuel used, a deposit or bond when picking up the rental car or any extras) and you are responsible for paying the additional costs or expenses. We're unable to provide a rental if you have a learner's licence, if you do not meet the minimum age criteria for the rental car provider, or if there are no rental cars in your location.
If you choose not to include this benefit, you will need to pay the full cost of a rental vehicle while your car is getting repaired as a result of a claim.
If you'd like to add this benefit to your policy, or for more information on conditions, please get in touch.
