AA Membership Competition - Terms and Conditions
1. Each eligible customer who takes out a new AA Membership before the renewal date of their Eligible Policy will be entered into the 2025 AA Member Competition (Competition) and is deemed to accept these terms and conditions. If you do not wish to participate in the Competition, please contact us.
Promoter
2. The promoter of the Competition is AA Insurance Limited (AA Insurance), with its registered office at Level 5, 20 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland.
Competition Period
3. The Competition commences on 1 April 2025 and finishes at midnight on 31 March 2026 (the Competition Period).
Eligibility
4. To be eligible for entry into the Competition you must:
a. be an existing AA Insurance customer with an annual premium either paid in full or have a direct debit set up for fortnightly or monthly premium payment for an “Eligible Policy” which include:
Comprehensive Car Insurance
Third Party Car Insurance
Third Party, Fire & Theft Car Insurance
Home Insurance
Landlord Insurance
Contents Insurance
Limited Contents Insurance
Classic Vehicle Insurance
Motorcycle Insurance
Motorhome Insurance
Caravan/Trailer Insurance
(each, an Eligible Policy)
b. sign up and pay for a new, valid and active personal AA Membership taken out with the New Zealand Automobile Association Incorporated (the AA) before your Eligible Policy’s renewal date.
c. be a New Zealand resident; and
d. be 18 years of age or older.
5. Employees, contractors, shareholders and their immediate families (being partners, children and parents) of the following organisations are not eligible to enter the Competition: AA Insurance Limited, The New Zealand Automobile Association Limited, Vero Insurance New Zealand Limited, Suncorp Group Holdings (NZ) Limited and Suncorp NZ Employees Limited. NZAA District Councillors and their immediate families are also not eligible to enter the Competition.
6. Entry into the Competition is not available to existing AA Members.
7. Entry into the Competition is not available for policyholders who cancel their policy within the prior to renewal during the Competition Period or existing AA Members who cancel their membership to sign up again.
The Competition
8. Each customer who renews their Eligible Policy and takes out a new, valid and active AA Membership before the date of renewal of the Eligible Policy be entered into the one of the 12 monthly prize draws to win one of twelve (12) $1,500 AA Member Benefit prize packs (each a Prize). For the avoidance of doubt, a Prize consists of a single item, for example, one (1) $1,500 AA Member Benefit prize pack. The prize includes vouchers for EVENT Cinemas ($160), AA Auto Centres ($329), Timezone ($100), MoleMap ($319), Pita Pit ($150), GO Rentals car hire ($300) and Petals Florist Network ($150).
AA Insurance reserves the right to substitute the Prize with one of equal or greater value at its discretion depending on availability.
9. One (1) entry is available per policy held regardless of the number of policy holders listed.
10. There will be 12 monthly Prize draws, which will be drawn on 7 May 2025, 9 June 2025, 7 July 2025, 7 August 2025, 8 September 2025, 7 October 2025, 7 November 2025, 8 December 2025, 7 January 2026, 9 February 2026, 9 March 2026, 6 April 2026 (Draw Dates). All valid entries for the relevant months’ Prize draw will be entered into the Prize draw for that month. Entries into the monthly Prize draw are valid only for the specific month Prize draw only. No entries will be carried over into another month’s draw. If a draw is unable to be conducted on the Draw Date for any reason, the Promoter shall conduct the Draw at the next practicable date available. Entries will be drawn at random and the first qualifying entry drawn will be deemed a winner of a Prize (Prize Winners).
11. The Prize Winners will be contacted by phone on the number listed on their policy at the time the winners are drawn. If, after making reasonable attempts, AA Insurance cannot contact a Prize Winner by phone within ten (10) working days of the Draw Date, that Prize Winner will no longer be eligible to receive their Prize and their Prize will be redrawn on the same terms and conditions, until a winner is successfully contacted.
12. Prizes cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash if the Prize Winners do not wish to or are unable to take up a Prize for any reason whatsoever.
13. AA Insurance will aim to mail or email each Prize via courier to the Prize Winners within 30 days of AA Insurance contacting the Prize Winners by phone.
14. AA Insurance may refuse to award a Prize to a participant who, in AA Insurance’s view, has acted fraudulently or not complied with these Terms or the terms and conditions of their AA Insurance policy.
General
15. AA Insurance has no control over the internet or mobile telephone communications, networks or lines, bugs, viruses and server problems and accepts no responsibility for any problems associated with them, for any reason.
16. If any event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of AA Insurance which prevents AA Insurance from complying with these Terms, AA Insurance will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.
17. AA Insurance reserves the right to modify these Terms and conditions at its discretion and to extend, modify, postpone or cancel the Competition at any time. AA Insurance’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. AA Insurance, its related companies, and agencies associated with this Competition, will not be liable for any loss, claim, cost, expense, liability or injury (Loss) suffered by any person in any way associated with the Competition including as a result of entry into the Competition or winning or use of a Prize, except where such Loss cannot be excluded by law.
19. AAI Insurance may communicate or advertise the Competition using Meta. However, the competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook. Entrants are providing their information to AA Insurance and not to Facebook. Each entrant completely releases Facebook from any and all liability.
20. These Terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of New Zealand courts.

Privacy
22. By taking part in the Competition, AA Insurance will collect your and any joint Policyholder’s personal information. Your personal information will be held by us in accordance with our privacy policy which can be accessed online here.
